A Few Days Away Camping

We decided to leave the kitchen reno, and head up island for a few days camping. One of our favorite spots is a forest service campground named Millers Creek. It is actually on Lower Campbell Lake, a man made lake about 12 miles north of the town of Campbell River. There are 24 camping sites, no services except pit toilets. There is a small dock and a boat launch. Each site has a fire pit, a picnic table and free fire wood. Cost is $ 12.00...$6.00 for seniors.

The road into the campground.

First walk to the lake

Skip has lost control I think

We took our rubber boat out to explore the lake

We have an electric motor but Skip decided to row today

The water is so clear  you can see the logs on the bottom

This log is a nursery for all kinds of plants

An older man and his dog live on this boat.

 Our Site

There is no cell service here, we didn't even bother with the dish for television, there is little chance of a signal with all the trees,  it was really good to get away for a few days. We will be camping for a weekend in August with our family, we don't see each other very often, so we try to get together  for a weekend every summer, there is usually about 20 of us.

We are already thinking about our winter vacation, hopefully we will leave about a month earler this year so we can go to Utah before it gets too cold, that's about as far as we've planned, I guess we will
just go where ever it is warm after that.
